The axis deer, also called the chital deer or spotted Indian deer, was introduced to Texas in the 1930s. They have become a favorite among Texas trophy hunters due to their impressive antlers and beautiful spotted coat.

At the Rio Seco Ranch, we are pleased to offer a limited number of trophy axis hunts each year. Our guests enjoy fantastic hunting, comfortable accommodations and a relaxing atmosphere.

• Trophy Axis Hunt - $2,500
• Axis Doe Hunt - $1,500

• On-ranch accommodations, meals, nonalcoholic beverages, transportation, game cleaning and capping, and a knowledgeable guide are included with each hunting package.
• Though we experience a high success rate, we do not guarantee successful hunts. Hunters will be charged a reduced rate of $1,000 for unsuccessful hunts.
• A valid Texas hunting license is required for all hunters.
• Wounded game are charged at 100% of the applicable rate. Every effort will be made to recover wounded game.
• The hunt will be confirmed upon receipt of a 50% nonrefundable deposit.
• All hunts are sold as complete packages and the final 50% (plus any other accrued charges) is due in full prior to departure from the ranch. No exceptions.
• Upon entering the ranch, all guests are required to sign a release of liability.
• Hunters must be accompanied by a guide.
