The Rio Seco Ranch is a family-owned hunting retreat offering exceptional trophy hunting, beautiful scenery, and a relaxing atmosphere. The ranch is tucked away among the live oak and juniper covered hills of the legendary Texas Hill Country, approximately 30 miles south of Rocksprings, Texas. The Hill Country of Texas supports the largest populations of whitetail deer in the state and is renowned for exceptional trophy whitetail and exotic hunting. The landscape of the Rio Seco Ranch is a mosaic of limestone hills, rocky bluffs, oak groves, juniper thickets, grasslands, and dry river bottoms. Elevations of the ranch fluctuate from approximately 2,000 feet in river bottoms to approximately 2,200 feet at the hill tops, providing breathtaking views of distant hills and valleys. The rugged terrain and abundant cover create a challenging hunt for even the most experienced sportsman. Principal wildlife species found on the ranch include whitetail deer, axis deer, rio grande turkey, wild hogs, bobcat, gray fox, raccoon, skunk, armadillo, ringtail "cat", rock squirrel, fox squirrel, rabbit, bobwhite quail, mourning dove, and many species of reptiles and migratory birds. The Rio Seco Ranch is a great place to escape the chaos of the city life and enjoy exceptional hunting and the beauty of the Texas Hill Country. The Rio Seco Ranch offers comfortable lodging that mixes the peaceful seclusion of this Hill Country ranch with the conveniences of home. The lodge consists of a main cabin with kitchen, bath, comfortable living room, and loft, as well as a separate guest cabin with beds for up to four visitors. A long wooden porch connects the two cabins and offers a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery and wildlife. Our outdoor rock fire pit and barbeque area is a great spot to gather in the evenings to enjoy the stars and share stories of the day's activities. |
